Kate and I are traveling to France later today. It seems almost surreal that we’re going to be going somewhere so far away and yet both of us are excited, not really nervous. I don’t know much French, but apparently if you try and speak SOME French, people tend to be appreciative and helpful.
The only main concern I have, is in what I’m going to wear. Europe tends to be a very fashionable place. America is too, NYC mainly, but in NYC I feel like you can LITERALLY get away with wearing ANYTHING. Not so much in Paris.
Kate turned me onto this blog about recent fashion: http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/
It’s very good. One thing I’m noticing though, from a fashion perspective, Italy seems to be where it’s at. It looks to me like you can be a little more daring in what you wear there, and that it’s a little more expected to wear something that’s in your face or a little noticeable.
So I’m at work, I’m working until 1130. I got up at 5 something, and plan on sleeping on the plane. It’s an 8 hour flight. I don’t know about you, but the most I’ve ever flown was to Vegas and that was around 3 hours and I literally felt like I was going to go crazy because of the noise and the cramped quarters. I hope that the flight is ok, that it’s not bumpy. It’s from 615 pm and lands in the am. I plan on sleeping the entire time, hence waking up so early this morning. I just hope that i can, because when we land we’re literally hitting the ground running and starting our day as if we hadn’t flown. Not that i care, my motto, for most of my life has been:
I’ll sleep when I’m dead.
Has a nice ring to it. And it’s literally how I live my life. Anyway, I don’t know where this post is going, but I know where I’m going. It’s going to be exciting. We’ll be posting many fashionable pics of ourselves, true American style, self portraits, small shots of us with large French style backgrounds…. it’s gonna be great.
