Zygote Pattern Series

I’m inching slowly towards actually getting some things printed on fabric. The next step will be to see if anyone ACTUALLY wants what I’m selling.

Zygote Pattern SeriesI was playing around with color, using the “old man winter ver 1″ color palette off of Kuler.adobe.com and I came up with a couple of variants fairly quickly in Ilustrator. Let me know what you think, mon fraire.

Tim Brown urges designers to think big | Video on TED.com

I’m doing some research for work about design thinking and the healthcare industry, and I came across this TED Talk from Tim Brown at IDEO about what we can do to start thinking less about the applications we’re making, and more about the people we’re designing for.

House passes health care reform bill: and I kick off another blog series

House passes health care reform bill – CNN.com.

The House of Representatives passed a health care reform bill this past Saturday. I will be kicking off a blog post series with the following posts:

1) An interview with my Dad, Dr. Stephen Aronoff – The Chairman of Pediatrics at Temple University and a specialist in infectious diseases.  This will be a jumping off point with topics probably including medicine, technology, doctor/patient relationships, and more.

2) How design and user testing can help build better medical applications.

3) The need for a standardized health care record database or other technology that makes records truly up-to-date and portable.

4) HIPAA, privacy and the internet.

5) How technology and mobile devices have shaped the medical industry in the last 10 years.

I think that there needs to be mroe discussion in this area, that’s seperate from political sides and gets to the heart of what’s wrong with certain things with the health care industry. Critical thinking and innovation drives most change and I feel is the only way to truly bring about real reform in this industry.
